Awesome accomplishment on the 102 catches. It does have something to say about the fishery making a rebound. Wouldn't be great to have it restored and know that our grandchildren will have flounder to catch long after we are gone. Keep up the work you are doing Chester & my hat id off to TP&W and the work that they are doing with the hatchery !

Yesterday the bite was pretty good for me in the Surfside Jetty Channel. Caught 10 fish, 8 that would have been keepers. I only bagged 1 fish, the other 9 were released. I kept a 19". All fish were caught on finger mullet.

Boom,Smack,Thump!!
These may all be the words that came straight out of a comic book.But this time of year thats what gets my blood pumping. Hello Chester and other flounder anglers. Its time to quit chasing those old trout and birds around. The flounder are on the prowl!GRab your Twister Tails and a box of shrimp and get to tipping. Almost every marsh cut that has a water flow moving in or out of it right now is producing a bite for me. Also the fish are starting to get larger and larger as the big old girls start to get on the move. Finding these fish is as simple as putting together a plan on which cuts you want to fish and sticking to it. Start on the inside points then work out to the middle of the marsh cut and get ready for the THUMP! THUMP! I recommend a 1/4 ounce jig head and its also helpful to keep a 1/8 ounce ready. My old school Glow Twister Tail has been laying the smack down with a small piece of shrimp added. WOOO!! Just Typing this has me ready to go back and flip a jig. Now everyone remember to try to let these big girls go so all that Chester and Sea Center is working on shows in our flounder future. Good Luck To All! And God Bless!!!!!!!!!

Was great to see you again at the Brazoria County CCA general membership meeting. As always it was a pleasure to hear you speak. I have a new e-mail now as I am no longer with my former place of employment. I used to get the regular Flounder Revolution updates there at work & have missed getting them.

Hey Chester, and fellow flounder anglers. Lately i have been catching alot more flounder on a consistent basis. And the great news is that the average size in my catch is increasing per trip. I would like to point out that in opinion i think that alot of this had to due with the weather and with the season starting to lean towards the run. But on the other hand also because of your effort in catch and release of larger flounder. The word is out about the replica program and the need for the release of these big girls for the future of flounder fishing. And due to both your effort and other anglers understanding this issue the results are truly visible. For anyone wondering how i have been catching these fish heres a quick tip. Target tide movement in front of cuts and on main points. I have went back to the roots of flounder fishing for myself. And have been throwing a twister tail grub tipped. with shrimp.The color of the grub is glow and the jig head is a quarter ounce. For those anglers who have been using gulp don't panic i am sure it will do just as good. Well i will see you on the water soon and good luck to other participating anglers .And to all, keep up the great work of catching and releasing these big girls. God bless!

Hmmm. Could it be NanoFil? Fused polyethylene. The latest and greatest from the good folks at Berkley. Have you tired it yet? Does it make the scrubbing sound on the rod guides like braid? Does it fray like braid? I love to find one of these new "superlines" I could learn to love. Hasn't happened yet.
